Meghan McKay is an Athletic Trainer who has been practicing in the US for 9 years. Meghan came to join the Wales medical team for the 2010 World Championships as her younger brother, Trey, was selected for the squad. Since that time, she has been working with the team as the Head AT. She coordinated all of the medical for the 2014 Worlds, was able to secure another state-side AT, Megan McBay to assist for major tournaments.
Meghan was also able to secure a UK-based AT, Megan Hodun to work with the team there. Since then, they have collaborated in increasing the quality of medical care through out the Wales Men's squads, which includes everything from sideline care, to baseline fitness and medical testing, nutrition, strength and conditioning and more. By collaborating on all of these fronts, the teams medical staff is bringing a team approach to their overall medical care.
Meghan is a native of Houston, TX whose grandfather was a third parent and from Pontblyddyn. She has worked with a multitude of sports, which has included NCAA Division III National Championships with both the women's Field Hockey and Lacrosse teams at Salisbury University in Maryland. She is currently practicing as an AT with Baylor College of Medicine and is a vital member of their Sports Medicine team."
