Wales Mens Lacrosse

Before joining Aberystwyth University in 2013 I had never really heard of Lacrosse. But after stumbling into the lacrosse team at the fresher’s fair I decided to give it a go. The physicality of the sport and the speed of the game was something that really drew me to it. Throughout school and college I had always been a hockey goalkeeper, so becoming a Lacrosse goalie was quite an easy fit, or so I thought. It took me a while to get use to using my stick instead of using my body, much to the anger of my teammates. However, in my second season of playing with a bit of fine tuning I was lucky enough to be included in the Welsh University squad which competed at the British National Championships in 2015. We did really well, coming 8th in the competition. After the tournament I was fortunate enough, with a number of the other Welsh Uni boys to be included in the Wales team which took part in the Triangular tournament in Stirling in June 2015. This was a fantastic experience, playing lacrosse at the highest level, and it really helped me further my understanding of the game. This is my third year playing lacrosse now and being included in the Wales Squad for the European Championships in Budapest is my proudest achievement so far. I very much look forward to the opportunity to represent Wales on the biggest stage and to learn from the experienced players around me
