Jamie Bodnar-Hovarth

jbh2My lacrosse journey began on a classic Cardiff evening with the win and rain swirling around the university astro-turf, a slight shock as I had been dragged from the warm confides of my house by housemates. Thrust into my first game after only a few weeks of training the learning curve has never slacked off. Within in few months I was asked to play for Cardiff Harlequins in premiership fixture that proved a huge step up from university level. My second season saw the university side earn promotion to the BUCS south premiership and Harlequins win WEST 1A and FLAGS. The following season on my year in industry in Manchester I joined Timperly Lacrosse Club, this was a brilliant experience and allowed me to train and play at a higher standard than I had done before.

I am currently back playing for Cardiff Harlequins in the Southern Premiership as well as Cardiff University. Budapest will be my first international tournament and I am extremely honoured to have been given the opportunity to represent my country. I am looking forwarded to playing alongside new teammate as well as those who have been there since the beginning of my journey
